Portfolio/Photo Essay Competition
There shall be a Portfolio/Photo Essay competition, with entry from either the print or the slide media. The goal of this competition shall be fun and participation, rather than trophies, aggregate points etc. There shall be a single class of entry, with the winner awarded as determined by the members present.
Photo essays are to relate a cohesive story line or theme through the use of up to a maximum of eight (8) images. These images may be accompanied with a single, simple caption or title but may not be embellished by sound tracks or narratives. Members may enter as many as two (2) essays. If, however, two (2) are entered, they should be unrelated.
(a maximum of one (1) per member) are to be strictly limited to a maximum of fifteen (15) images. They should present a cross-section of the member's best work, i.e., as one might prepare to impress a prospective buyer. An entry (either essay or portfolio) should be self-contained in the sense that it should be either all prints or all slides, since these media will be judged separately. Entries exceeding the maximum will be abridged accordingly. The judges for this competition shall be those members in attendance who have not entered images.
Since there will not be an accumulation of aggregate scores or Master Class points for these images, the photographer is welcome to submit photographs from previous print or slide competitions or those they plan on entering in future print or slide competitions. Remember, all winning photographs from this event will not be included in the year-end judging unless they win in the regular print or slide competitions.
